Overbending
and Overcrowning
DEVELOP3 allows to overcrown or overbend surfaces
and/or faces according to manual input or a law definition. This enables
the engineer to local or global modify a complex CATIA surface/face
model specified by overcrowning or overbending without being very
experienced in surface modelling.
DEVELOP3 can be used in the engineering of tools
for deforming sheet metal parts or plastic parts.
If the user has the geometry of the part for which
he has to make the tool and he/she may expect phenomena of spring back.
DEVELOP3 will allow to deform this geometry into the desired shape very
quickly. Otherwise the geometry has be constructed new from the
scratch, which can be very time consuming.
The recomputation of the geometry is possible in
the interactive mode or can be stored in the model and recomputed later
in a batch program, which is also part of the delivery of the product.
DEVELOP3
can be applied where the modifications are relatively close to the
original part to maintain the geometry of the modified surfaces in a
best possible way.
