TDE (Tool and Die Engineering) Products
are add-on applications and modules which significantly improve
productivity and add functionality for CATIA users...
In the drive for continuous
improvement in productivity, the time for the construction of tools in
sheet metal forming needs to be reduced significantly. This has
resulted in a move from the classical methods of building a real model
to the generation of a virtual model within the CATIA system.
CATIA today is the standard system for the construction of
tools in the automotive market. However, some of the specific demands
of the engineer who either constructs tools for sheet metal forming, or
plans the production methods, are left unsatisfied by the standard
functions of CATIA.
In close cooperation with
German car manufacturers and toolmakers Actas has developed specific
CATIA modules for sheet metal tool and die engineering. The use of
these specific add on functions implies an important reduction in tool
and die development time accompanied by improved quality of the results.
Since 1998, Actas (at that time as Atos Origin Engineering Services)
is a CAA development partner of DASSAULT SYSTEMES. The products CATAD2 and
CATAD4 are both covered by the CAA development program. Now, Actas is a
CATIA V5 CAA Adopter and offers the same CATIA TDE applications for CATIA
V5.
